About the Position:

This position is a permanent full time role reporting to the Coordinator Fleet & Depot within our Engineering Works Branch.   You will predominantly be accountable for ensuring all City fleet is maintained to a high level and works completed in a timely and safe manner.  As the leader of a small team, you will be required to spend a considerable amount of your time on the tools with your work colleagues.  The additional component required as the Supervisor is to effectively lead and motivate the team to best practice levels along with a component of office duties including work prioritisation and jobs allocated out on a daily basis utilising the asset management system, timekeeping maintenance, procurement duties and ensuring adherence to safety processes.

About the Person:

To be successful in this position you must have/be:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate (or equivalent) and a HR motor vehicle driver’s license
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems for plant and machinery along with the maintenance and repairs of vehicles, plant and equipment
  • Proven capability leading small teams
  • Computer savvy to adapt to systems used at the City including Technology One
  • Aligned to our City Values of Innovation, Accountability, Respect and Excellence from previous work experiences
  • Strong communication skills are required as you will need to interact with all levels of City personnel
